This month, SUSANNE over at SNAPS AND SNIPPETS is challenging us to scrap using SASSAFRASS products, for her IN GOOD COMPANY challenge.
On rifling through my stash, I discovered all of one sheet of Sassafrass (Woodland Whimsy),so tried to be a bit creative and use both sides, plus the scalloped bottom edge, as well as some fussy cutting. I also 'gutted' the sheet, so that I had the outer blue border, and attached some Bazzill CS to it. The doily shape under the flowers is the cream paper cut on my Silhouette, and inked a bit.
I have just realised what a dreadful picture this is...apologies!
Please consider joining Susanne's challenge, as she is threatening to call a halt on it due to lack of interest, which would be a real pity. It has made me much more aware of what products I actually have in my stash...and use them! I had had this particular sheet for a few years, and hadn't been able to come up with a way to use it until now-thanks Susanne!
I am abandoning COVER TO COVER for the moment...tomorrow I'm off to Barcelona for a few days, as this is Kirsty's last half term there and this will be the last time I won't have to pay for a hotel!!
Kirsty will come back down with me for a few days, and then I have a friend coming over for five days...I'm hoping to dip in and out of COVER TO COVER, but certainly won't be participating in the way I was expecting to!
Hope you're having a good weekend
Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx

ReplyDeleteRinda
Love your layout! I think I only have Sassafrass button flowers, but I'll have to give it a whirl. I sure hope more play along this time! I too love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Alison Thanks for your message. I hope you have a great time in Barcelona with your daughter. It's one of my favourite Cities. I joined friends on a boat for two summers a few years back. It was fabulous living in the harbour, lovely days.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the mail-art. I am only just getting to mine after family affairs kept me busy for a few days.
Take care, Irene x
Great page - I've pulled a piece of Sassafrass paper - now if I can just find time to create a layout as cute as yours!
ReplyDeleteLove that flower embellishment you made with the Sihouette cut-out! My friend is in Barcelona for the week too! Have a great time with Kirsty and your friend as well :)
ReplyDeleteI got your book today! Thank you so much, especially for the wee parcel of goodies! I'm enjoying Cover to Cover but I think it is very much an ongoing and longer term project so I think dipping in and out is good - have a fun time!
ReplyDeleteThe layout looks great. I'm not familiar with the sassafrass line I'll have to go check it out. Have fun in Barcelona.
ReplyDeleteWow, wish I could visit Barcelona, but I will see it vicariously through you for now. I'm not doing much with Cover to Cover right now, just keeping the daily prompts in iBooks for future reference.
ReplyDeleteThat;s a great way to use the sheet - I wonder if I've got any Sassafrass in my stash, I'll have to have a look and at the challenge too. Have a lovely time in Barcelona x
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful LO, Alison!! Love the lacey piece!! Family is so precious!! ~ Blessings

Isn't the Sassafras stuff great for being frugal! One sheet and one would never know! there's a whole lot of paper goodness here out of what you had. And I'm happy to hear that you too gut the middle! I thought it was just me. I do that all the time :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely layout. And yes, wouldn't it be a shame if S stopped IGC?!?
