LOOKING UP AND DOWN

Hello my friends...another busy week here, due to the re-furbishing of the Charity shop where I work...why we decided to do it in this heat, I can't quite remember!!!

We are sitting between 30 and 35 degrees(C) every day...at this moment it's actually 38* on the terrace, hence the reason I have come into a cool part of the house to write this!

I can only sympathise with my friend DEB TURTLE, in her post YESTERDAY.....I feel your pain, my friend...but I totally agree with her that you accept the 8-10 weeks of intense heat and learn to adapt...the thought of our cooler -but still mainly awesome- weather from September keeps us all going!

My pictures for HELENA'S weekly photographic meme...LOOK UP, LOOK DOWN are directly linked to our weather this week.

LOOKING UP

The sun almost directly above us at 1pm today

LOOKING DOWN

Boo's favourite daytime spot at the moment...under our bed!

I do hope the sun is shining where YOU are...it's even shining in Central Scotland! Mum is hiding indoors, while dad (having got out of hospital at the weekend- thank you so much for all your lovely comments and enquiries about his health!) is enjoying sitting in it!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx

  1. I think I might be hiding under the bed as well...the 28 degrees we have here is quite hot enough for me!!

  2. I think I might be with Boo too! I don't like too much heat. Fortunately the breeze off the sea makes it just bearable for me here - but I do love to see the sun shining - I don't cope well with rainy days - tears are always too close to the surface then, so I am grateful for the summer weather. So glad to hear your dad is enjoying the sun. J x

  4. Even with the A.C. on our cats are finding cool spaces to hide during the day. Can't say I blame them. YAY that your dad is home again!

  6. I am not a lover of the heat and even today have woken up with a headache because it was too hot during the night.

Good news that your dad is home.

  11. I love that under the bed is the best place, maybe my youngest can join Boo cause he likes to hide under the bed too, in fact they would be perfect companions together

  12. we are finally having sunny weather here in england and it is just at the nice temperature in the mid twenties. I am doing all I can to top up the tan. I can imagine it is a bit too hot to sit out in where you are though!

  15. I am not a huge fan of heat that last for weeks (even though I live in it!) but I think that when we plan big jobs we often forget about upcoming heat. But I am sure it will be worth it when it is finished, just take it slow :)

  18. Glad to hear your Dad is out of hospital and enjoying the nice weather. Boo's picture reminded me of Jethro when it was really hot out - he'd go and lie on the ceramic tiles as they were usually a lot cooler than his other options. :)

  19. Poor old Boo looks positively shattered under the bed LOL!! Shame that is really hot. We are in Winter here now so the temperatures are in the low 20s during the day - bliss!!
