The weekend? There was an Artisan Fayre on in the village on Saturday
and I had arranged to meet a friend for coffee and a walk round the stalls. The afternoon saw me printing off photographs for a new set of frames I bought before Christmas, before going out for a Birthday dinner with friends. This morning it was our Charity's annual Almond Blossom Walk .....during which I got spectacularly lost!...I had waited behind for a late arrival who didn't turn up, thinking I would catch up with the group.....of COURSE I took a wrong turning and after forty minutes or so I decided I had better turn back.....I DID manage to rack up 7000 plus steps on my Fitbit though! I waited in a local bar (drinking coffee!) till everyone returned, then it was off to eat again! Due to having
Lesson learned?......that just because we mere mortals set a date for an Almond Blossom Walk, Mother Nature has the final say- not to mention the last laugh- in there BEING any blossom left:
the blossom was all but gone and the new leaves are in abundance.
Hoping you all had a weekend with some enjoyable and interesting moments!
Have a good week my friends
Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx
The Almond Blossom Walk reminds me of the Lilac Festival here in May. We're never sure quite where the lilacs will be. Sometimes they're in full bloom, sometimes just buds, and rarely, but occasionally, past their prime. Mother Nature doesn't seem much interested in our calendars. I'd love be joining the folks in the first photo for a cup of coffee in the sun!
ReplyDeleteOh yes I'll be joining Karen too at one of those tables - it all looks fabulous even with no bloom left. have a great week
ReplyDeleteThe seasons are well and truly out of synch this year aren't they? Pleased to hear that I'm not the only one who can get lost easily - one wrong turn is all it takes!
ReplyDeleteOh I think the almond festival would be such a pretty time. I think the Universe had other plans for you to be "lost" at that particular moment. Ah Mother Nature & her moods :)
ReplyDeletethis did make me smile, I do think you live in a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, how funny that there was no blossom! I used to organise coach tours and clients went to the dutch bulbs fields but there were no flowers for them to see! It sounds like you had a lovely weekend xx
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like quite the adventure! I think I've said this before..the almond blossom festival always sounds as if it should smell amazing
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Alison
We've had the same problem trying to catch the cherry blossoms in D.C. Twice we've planned trips and twice missed the peak blooms. Looks like you still had a wonderful weekend! Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteOh pity you missed the best of the blossoms - but glad you were rewarded with extra steps and fitness.
ReplyDeleteYou made me smile about Mother Nature ... Yup she sure does play by her own rules :)
ReplyDeleteAn almond blossom walk sounds lovely. What a shame it was over and that you got lost.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend was better than mine. I was on the couch with a bad cold.

Oh, sounds like a busy weekend, but a bummer about the blossoms. We're watching for the bluebonnets here as they should be early due to warm weather and rains lately.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good but busy weekend. You made me smile with the getting lost part. Glad you managed to meet up with everyone in the end.
ReplyDeleteShame about the double whammy of no almond blossom and getting lost - but on the plus side, 7000 Fitbit steps is a distinct bonus! Is Spring early this year?
ReplyDeleteYes I think Mother Nature has screwed up a lot of things like that this year - either everything is way early or never arrived. :)
