Life in the Slow Lane: MONDAY MEMORANDUM

Tuesday 15 March 2016

Can I just say that I actually wrote this last night and was sure I had pressed the 'PUBLISH' button!!

Good Monday Evening my friends!....and so beginneth another week....can you believe how quickly this year is passing?

It was a busy but productive and fun weekend here....not really any 'firsts' that I am aware of though.

Friday saw our Charity's annual auction, which made it a busy week with moving items to the Auction venue but it was worth it, given that we raised almost 3500 euros.

Saturday morning was spent doing the dreaded housework, then there was a bit of hospital visiting before a quick dash round the supermarket...have I ever mentioned that I hate shopping- ESPECIALLY food shopping!....which left me some time for a little bit of scrapbooking:

On Sunday morning a couple of us attended a special Mass to bless the opening of the local Catholic Church charity's Food Bank....I suppose THAT was a first...I've never been to an outdoor Mass before!

In the evening a group of us headed down to one of the 'big' towns (Denia) at the coast, to watch a Children's Dance Group performing...they were raising money for our Charity and there lots of 'ooh'ing and 'ahh'ing at the little ones and lots of awe and respect for the older girls.

The weekend was finished off with a rather nice plate of pasta before heading for home .

I am struggling to think of anything new I's very possible that I DID learn something new but that I have totally forgotten it!

Waving to SIAN and the 'Mondayers' and wishing you all a good week

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx

  1. Nice layout, the feather pattern paper goes so well with your photo. I like the idea of blessing the food bank.

  2. Food Banks need all the help they can get, so a blessing from the church is a step in the right direction!
That's the perfect title to accompany that photo ~ life does go on and it's okay to smile and even laugh now and again. xx

  3. What a great photo of the three of you! Our church runs a food cupboard which I assume is much like a food bank; such an important mission in our area.

  4. Such a beautiful layout and photo, Alison - your papers are just perfect. Here's another who hates food shopping. I don't even like doing it online. Well done on the charity work :).

  5. Paul's cousin has a holiday home in Denia! Strange to see it is quite close to you.

  6. looks like another busy weekend Alison, I'm another who hates shopping.

  7. What a lovely photo and layout! I don't like food shopping either!

  8. Even if you don't think you learned anything new, I bet the rest of us did :) I always find something interesting on your posts about getting out and about. And I'm happy to discover I'm not the only one who hates food shopping..I was starting to think there was something wrong with me!

    Wishing you a happy rest-of-the-week

  9. Outdoor masses (or any service) is always interesting. I hate food shopping - hence the buying in bulk and having as much as possible delivered.

Glad to see that you can still smile and had time together.

  10. What a lovely layout, and I hope the food bank does well.

Sorry, I'm in the camp of loving food shopping lol. It's the putting away I hate lol

  11. Lovely layout! Hope the food bank is a success. I dislike food shopping so do mine online and have it delivered!

  12. Lovely catchup and lovely layout. Dreaded housework and a dash to the supermarket are on my agenda this Monday a.m. too.

  13. It looks like you had a lovely weekend, they layout is gorgeous with such a great photo xx

  14. Sounds like a very busy weekend even if youi can't remember if you learned anything new. I bet you remembered something after you posted this.
