THE TIME HAS COME......

.....to face up to reality.

You may have noticed that I have been MIA for the last few months...the reasons are varied and I have been putting off the inevitable.

I have just read with great sadness but total understanding, my friend DEB TURTLE'S post explaining that she is bringing her blog (as it is now) to an end.

On reading Deb's final post, I realised that it was time for me to to be upfront and honest too.

My life is no longer lived in the slow lane, and in no way am I complaining about that; my involvement with the local charity has increased greatly over the last year and my commitments mean that my time is more limited and the time I DO have I want not be worrying about not writing a blogpost.

I have loved my blog...most especially for the friendships I have forged and for which I will be forever grateful....I will continue to look out for you all on FB and INSTAGRAM (and may even leave the odd comment on your Blog).

An appropriate picture to end with.....we were singing 'Start Spreading the News.....'

As always
Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx

  2. Oh no, not another one ;-) Whilst I'm sorry to read this, I'm pleased that the reason you are stopping is because life is too busy to find time for blogging.
I've so enjoyed meeting you through your blog. Please don't disappear completely, I'll be looking out for you on FB and IG to keep up with your news.

  3. you will be missed.
UM, not sure whether to share this little anecdote from my daughter but my phrase reminded me........... oh what the hell, it should make you smile. My daughter worked in an office where one of her co-workers would be absent when she should have been working and always managed to avoid all the real work. She would then return and say "Did you miss me?" One day, after a particularly hectic hour when said co-worker was absent, she returned, sat on the corner of my daughter's desk and said "Did you miss me?" "Yes," replied my daughter "with every shot ---- so far"
Apparently there was a short silence after which the co-worker muttered something about getting back to her work. She never spoke to my daughter again but her absences were shorter and less frequent. Every time I say something about missing someone this story springs to mind.......... I should have blogged it

  4. Well, I am glad to know your absence was for happy busy life reasons. I will miss your blog, but will keep in touch on Instagram - which I hate to admit has lots of appeal for being very quick and easy compared to blogging.

  5. I totally understand Alison, life does get in the way sometimes and living life to the full is the best reason to prioritise and choose what makes you happy and make the decision not to feel guilty about not updating your blog. Wishing you a lovely rest of the summer xxx

I will miss you greatly, for I have always looked forward to your posts from your corner of Spain, and your lovely photos which bring back so many memories of my own time in Spain. 10. Seems a lot of us are coming to this point. Your posts will be missed, but I will watch for you on Facebook! And if the whole world is moving to instagram, maybe, just maybe, I need to get on board with it. Remember if you ever come back to NYC to let me know so we can meet up!

  11. I'm so sorry to read this, because of course if it hadn't been for blogging we would never have met! I can tell that I'm gong to have to try to learn to like FB so I can continue to keep up with everyone..life without my blogging friends just wouldn't be the same. I have always enjoyed your posts from Spain and you have taught me a lot and I'm so pleased to hear that you have plenty to keep you busy in your sunny corner of the world. I'll be looking out for you on IG x

  15. Well dear, you can see how absent I have been from the blogging world @@ Today I just decided I was going to Feedly and leaving comments on all my friends' blogs. I'm so glad we met through blogging and I have so appreciated your prayers over the years. This has been a difficult year but oddly a year with quite a few highs. I haven't blogged in forever and am unsure if I will but do love the record it has left of our lives although I recently realized the older posts no longer show the photos! I look forward to staying connected through FB!
