EASTER MONDAY ON THE COSTAS!

The post title is possibly a bit of a generalisation...but I'm guessing that it wasn't REALLY too different on other beaches around our area!.

Monday was a beautifully sunny day, and up here in the valley there wasn't too much wind. However when we decided to head for the coast for some lunch, I reminded DH how windy it could be down there and we both took pullovers with us....good decision! It was rather a cool cold wind down there and the pullovers went on right away. Being a holiday Monday, we had to park some way away from the sea front, and when we rounded the corner (being blown off our feet) on to the 'promenade' I couldn't believe this sight

The half-naked ones being sand blasted and hiding behind windbreakers HAD to be British...certainly holidaymakers at any rate! The Spanish and local residents among us were to be seen...

...gawping at those brave souls, whilst cosy in our sweatshirts and pullovers!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx

  2. Yep, Jacky's right - we had hailstones! We always picnic on Easter Monday, so we sat outside with our hoods up, eating our egg sandwiches in the rain. But, as my friend said, you have to enjoy yourself on a day out. It's the law

  3. Funny! I was talking with another mom while our sons played at the playground yesterday. She is from Southern California, so she is always cold here in Northern California. I am enjoying the mild temperatures here, but the ocean is cold around here. I am looking forward to beach trips to Southern California.

  4. I would love to live by a beach! We have to drive 5 1/2 hours to get to one. But that's OK. Great photos.

  5. Popped in to say Hi and saw the wonderful shots of the beach. We would have needed more than a windbreak today. Along our foreshore, we have had hailstones, rain and the blackest of skies, with the odd touch of thunder claps. Would love to be in Barcelona right at this minute!

  6. This made me laugh - when we visit Mum and Dad who have an apartment not far from Alicante the girls always want to visit the beach whatever the time of year! We will be there in our shorts and t-shirts, the youngest jumping in the sea whilst the Spanish look bemused and wrapped up in their coats!

  8. Hehehehe! Your post made me laugh. Gotta love holiday makers. We have the same kind of sights here. But I suppose what feels warm is all relative to how cold it is where you live :-)

  14. So while we were needing our hoodies and sweatshirts just to keep warm INSIDE, you were out strolling in the sunshine! You are so lucky to live there, fancy being able to pop out and have that beach practically on your doorstep.

  15. Looks lovely! We were on the Isle of Wight, and although it was sunny most of the time, it was quite chilly and we were wearing long sleeve t-shirts, fleece and winter coats! By the way, thanks for the book! Arrived home from holiday today to find it on the front door mat - really looking forward to reading it and then, of course, passing it on. xx

  16. Oh that has made me laugh. We've seen kids crying on the beach in bad weather and the parents saying to them "this is your holiday so you will stay here and enjoy it"! x
