Up until now I have posted 13 pictures, and, apart from the WASHING LINE (which given the number of visitors I've had-and have still to have- is not a problem..I just keep forgetting about it) the remainder are the tricky ones:
1. A PIER- not something I've seen on my travels, but having read this little snippet on Wikipedia: 'In American English, pier may be synonymous with dock', I think I MAY (with your permission Rinda?) have got around that one!
5. A TRAIN - not so much tricky, as that it's not something I can find locally...I just have to remember to go via the Railway Station in Valencia, when I go to pick Kirsty up tomorrow.
8. A PERSON DRESSED AS AN ANGEL OR A STATUE OF AN ANGEL- you would think that in this very religious country I could find a statue of an angel...well, I can't!
13. A LIBRARY- another one that sounds simple, but I haven't seen one yet!!
14.A PERSON PLAYING WITH A BALL- not even Boo wants to run after a ball in this heat!
20. A SWING HANGING FROM A TREE (OR A HAMMOCK)....I think this is going to be the one to cause me the most problems now.........
even though I thought it would be NUMBER 21- A PICTURE OF YOU STANDING WITH SOMETHING THAT SYMBOLISES YOUR NATION . Being in Spain, I was finding it difficult to find anything remotely Scottish, but on tidying a few things away in Kirsty's room yesterday I found the very thing:
...a little set of bagpipes (actually a magnet) which, when I pressed it onto the mirror, played 'Scotland the Brave'...that DID make me smile!!
Why not pop over to RINDA'S BLOG if you want to check out some more scavenging tales....I'm looking forward to seeing what the other participants have been up to...hopefully having as much fun as I have!
Thanks again Rinda, for putting this together!
Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx
We call a pier a pier, but we also call it a jetty - a dock sounds as though it will be similar and I am sure Rinda will 'allow' it!
ReplyDeleteThose bagpipes are just perfect Alison .. I was wondering what you were going to do for this prompt!
Looks like you're having a lot of fun with these photo challenges~! Rather you than me with what's left on your list!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you couldn't get more typically Scottish than bagpipes!
ReplyDeleteI love the bagpipes! A dock definitely counts as a pier. And you never know when you'll come across one of the hard to find items. Don't forget to link your post up to the Linky on my blog.
ReplyDeleteRinda
Bagpipes! Of course! What else could you choose? Great self portrait.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the last tricky ones. Can't believe the absence of angel statues in Spain but I guess the Madonna is the more likely statue out there. Keep looking ............
Love the bagpipes and the music :) I am surprised by the angel lack too.
ReplyDeletegreat photo - I've also been suprised at the abscence of angels but then I've never looked for them before
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute magnet
ReplyDeleteBagpipes - perfect!
ReplyDeletethe angel is proving hard for me too, love the bagpipes, your post reminds me of having to listen to them at my in-laws!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo - love your take on this challenge!! ~ Blessings, Tracey

Good photo of the mini-bagpipes and catching yourself in the photo, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the bagpipes...just perfect:o) I have no idea what my 'symbol' will be yet.

Yay for the bagpipes! It's surprising which ones give us a hard time.
ReplyDeleteLove that photo of you with the bagpipes! You're doing really well with your finds!
ReplyDeleteI thought I wouldn't have any trouble finding an angel when we visited three different museums on a recent trip, but NO, not one!!
ReplyDeleteOh I do love the bagpipes being Scottish myself...xx
ReplyDeleteGreat bagpipe photo!
ReplyDeleteLove the bagpipe photo!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever realised that you were Scottish (or had I forgotten??) I am half Scottish but not that keen on the sound of bagpipes! Fab pic though xxx
ReplyDeleteHow about going to a toy or hobby store to find a picture of a train? Last year I was having trouble finding a rooster. Then one day in a fabric stores notion area I found buttons that were roosters.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought of finding a bookcase of books at someones house or in a public place like a hotel or something, this would class as a library of sorts! Good luck finding the rest x x
ReplyDeleteI'm giggling at you finding a bagpipe magnet when you needed it. Serendipity! Good luck with the angel.
ReplyDeleteThe bagpipes are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the bagpipes, and you look very sweet with them.
ReplyDeleteI'm also having trouble with train and angel. Plus someone dancing and horse (which should be easy around here, but seems when I am out and about they are all hiding in the barns!)
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for sort of giving me permission to photograph a dock and call it a pier! LOL! I had wondered about that myself. ;o)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your photo with the bagpipes - great idea.
Hmmm...an angel? Catholic church or cathedral or, perhaps more accessibly, a cemetery? Good luck with your quest!
ReplyDeleteLove your picture. Really shows imagination. One of my many problems is the angel.
