SCAVENGING UPDATE FOR JUNE

This weekend RINDA has put up a LINKY  on her BLOG..... for all those participating in the 2013 SUMMER SCAVENGER HUNT to share their finds with others who are (or even aren't..why not?..it's fun!) taking part.

You will find my first few finds in this post  HERE and in this one HERE... and here is the actual list:

1. Open air market
2. Theater for performing arts (not a movie theater)
3. City Hall, Capitol or other similar civic building
4. Airplane
5. A sunset
6. Someone or something taking a nap
7. A sign that is intentionally or unintentionally funny
8. A tower
9. A photo with someone or something that is clearly out of place or doesn't belong

10. A bench that is outside
11. An animal in a zoo, aquarium, nature preserve, etc.
12. A cloud in the shape of something (please specify what you see)
13. A fence
14. A stained glass object or a mosaic
15. A fire truck or police car

16. A windmill
17. Candle(s)
18. Your local pub/bar, coffee house or tea shop
19. A fisherman
20. A dinosaur
21. A photograph of you with an artistic tool or craft supply (you cannot substitute for this item)
Bonus/substitute items. If you find any of the above items too difficult, feel free to substitute either (or both) of these items. You can substitute up to two items, but you cannot substitute Item #21:
A person wearing an outfit (or item of clothing) that symbolizes your country
A sundial

My final few finds for June are:

#14- A STAINED GLASS OBJECT OR MOSAIC

This butterfly mosaic is in my garden...it was made for me by a friend

#9- A PHOTO OF SOMETHING/SOMEONE CLEARLY OUT OF PLACE

A castle in the middle of a Car Park (meaning I couldn't park there!) - it was being built, Disney-style, for the Moors and Christians Festival in a nearby town

#15- A FIRE TRUCK OR POLICE CAR

Whilst sitting having a meal in a local restaurant, we saw a Police Car pull up and block this white car's exit from the village- Craig was mortified..not to mention a bit worried...when I leapt out of my chair and stood  snapping the event...he was sure they wouldn't be best pleased with my intrusion-though I DID use the zoom function on the camera-I'm not THAT brave!

Now I am on the lookout for a windmill(?) and I'm thinking that a zoo or aquarium visit aren't on my 'to do' list for the summer...that might be the one I have to substitute...how about you?...what will be the item you think will 'stump' you?

Happy Snapping!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx

  1. Ah, the Spanish police! Henry and Clara decided there were the "nice" police and the "scary" police in Barcelona. They dressed very differently, drove different vehicles and carried different weapons. The "nice" ones seemed to be there mainly to answer questions from and direct tourists. They both decided early on not to mess around with the "scary" ones!
By the way, here's a link to zoos in Spain:

Just in case you want to take a day out.
Thanks for linking up today. Say hi to Craig.

  4. That mosaic is gorgeous. I'm hoping for a fire engine as I dodn't fancy snapping a police car!

  5. I'm thinking the fisherman might be the one that stumps me. Well, and clouds...

  6. How fun! Love the castle and the pretty mosaic!

  7. I love the castle in the car park, no that definitely doesn't belong. I am thinking that the animal in a zoo/aquarium will be my difficult find unless we win entry tickets. I had thought that the cloud would be an easy one but we seem to have either clear skies or dark clouds. It has been lots of fun looking out for the items.

  8. I watched clouds on a long walk today and saw nothing in any of them. That one seems hard. You're off to a great start!

  9. You're doing really well in the scavenger hunt, it does sound fun. I like the elephant cloud and your butterfly mosaic. Thanks for popping by my blog.

  12. I like the castle in the carpark..it gets the imagination going..

  13. Liking that mosaic! You were very brave to do the police when in action, I wouldn't have been able to do that. Your list is being crossed off nicely.

  14. Great progress with the list! I chickened out of snapping a real police car and got a child's police boat! I think the clouds might stump me, but I'm also stuck on something out of place and a funny sign:)

  15. You are making truly wonderful progress with the list Alison. I love your butterfly mosaic - so pretty and a real treasure to have in your garden, and I am highly intrigued by the Moors and Christians festival; look forward to reading more about it? - - I am thinking the animal in a zoo/aquarium might be hard for me, though The Manx Wildlife Trust did have Touch Tanks at the Queenie Festival last weekend and I did get a couple of photos, as we have no little ones around to push us into a trip to the Wildlife Park they might do. Take care my friend. J x

  16. I like your mosaic butterfly - I've been admiring some gorgeous mosaic garden bits and thinking I'll have to introduce a few to my next garden.

Good luck with the animals :)

  17. Great progress Alison. I have 11 items crossed off and now that I have my windmill I think I'll find all the others.

  18. Great progress - well done on snapping the police car - I wonder what the story was?!

  19. I really like that mosaic! We found several objects on our road trip last weekend (about half of them) and I hope to have the rest before the end of my blog break on August 1st!

  20. Love the castle! You are getting on really well! I've got my windmill lined up - there are quite a few in Essex! I was struggling with the cloud, but now that I have found that one I am quietly confident that I will get the rest!

  21. It's been really cool to see the different police cars depending on where you live. And the zoo/aquarium prompt may stump me too. It's way too hot for our local zoo, and the only aquarium I know of that's nearby is really pricey for admission. Great finds so far!

  22. Well isn't that just what you need in a car park? A castle! That mosaic is lovely. Boy you're really coming along. I don't really see us going to the zoo this summer so I think that and/or the windmill will be my hard ones.

  23. Well now, you are snapping right along on this challenge aren't you.

  24. I'm tempted to start this, even several weeks in. I participated in a photo scavenger hunt for BPC's phone photography class over the weekend and had a lot of fun finding shots that would work with the various prompts. Good luck finding the remaining items.
