SIMPLY A MOMENT?!

9pm- Friday August 16

I have just come in from watering the garden, and my IPad and glass of Vino Tinto de Verano are calling me:I casually come inside and nonchalantly pick up the IPad, as if I am NOT some kind of an addict in need of a 'fix'...... before I know it my fingers are flying over the multi-coloured candies on the screen.....I become aware of my heart beating faster and a grim determination takes over me....Boo tries to climb up beside me, and looks at me pityingly as I tell her to wait a minute....as my fingers continue to fly, I tell her that it is her mummy's (i.e. Kirsty's) fault that we are in this situation....she insisted on loading the APP when we were at mum and dad's a couple of weeks ago, and WHAM!.......I have become a self-confessed CANDY CRUSH SAGA addict!!

This 'moment' (alas, as always it turned into twenty moments before I lost this current batch of 'lives'!!) was brought to you as part of ALEXA'S monthly meme, where she invites us to record a moment in our lives....if you pop over to her blog, TRIMMING THE SAILS you are sure to find  an interesting variety of moments from many parts of the globe..in fact, why not add your own- you'll be made very welcome.

I would love to know if it's only me who has this sad addiction...PLEASE tell me it's not!!

Must go now...my new set of lives will just be about ready ;0

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx

  1. Hello Alison! and hope you have returned from your virtual world? That sounds a very addictive app - your excitement is palpable! I am afraid I cannot console you by telling you I play too - I have just never got into games on the computer, phone or iPad. But if you're offering a glass of tinto de verano, I'll sit happily in your lovely garden while you tap away :). Thank-you very much indeed for joining in again this month and adding your moment.

  2. Alison I will join you happily with the tinto de verano - but my weakness is word games! Your excitement really comes through in your writing - so thank you for sharing. J x

  3. I love this post as I am there with you. Was an addict but taking it one day at a time at the moment. Only because I have reached the levels that are virtually impossible unless you have that stroke of luck. Now off to bed before I am tempted to have another go, night xx

  4. Your moment made me smile, Alison. I have purposely avoided downloading candy crush because I am too easily addicted to those types of games! I know if I get it I won't get anything else done. I hope you beat that level soon though!

  5. No, I will not even try this game! The last one I tried, "Zoo World", that my granddaughter wanted me to sign up for so I could send her gifts, had me totally addicted. So I cannot even think about looking at another game!!! LOL I hear it's fun though!

  6. Oh yes, I feel your pain! I am on level 71 and refuse to buy extra lives or harass my Facebook friends for extra lives so each level takes a long time! Having had a weeks break I thought I would just have a couple more tries ... And then I reached a point where I decided I was going to remove the app as it was driving me mad. Next try and I completed level 70 which I had been on for weeks! So not only is it compulsive - it can read your mind as well ;-)

  8. I'm stuck on level 147 :( I have been there for more than 80 days now. Mr M, who started playing after me, has caught up and sailed through the level at first try. I just cannot clear all the jelly!!!
Love the tension in your moment

  9. LOL Alison! I'm like that with checking emails and blogs, but haven't got into games yet.... but I have just purchased a kindle fire, so will be on the lookout for some good games to play on my long flight to California in a few weeks!

  11. I'm not a gamer at all... and your pulse racing description convinces me I should not ever try!

  12. I've never seen it before,Alison....but I must admit I'm not a gamer....I already spend too much time on computers without a new addiction!!

  13. I've not downloaded and tried Candy Crush - I play word games (Scramble and Words with Friends) plus some other 'time wasters' as the folder is labelled that are off line. I know they are addicting, I've read the reasons why and just figure I don't have the time at the moment to even consider it. Hope you get through the tricky levels tho'!

  14. I haven't downloaded Candy Crush as I wouldn't be able to fit it in with my Words with Friends activities...but I understand what you are saying for sure!

  20. I'm trying to break the addiction - and that's a good word for it! I took it off of my facebook page and trying to ignore it on the iPad.

  21. I refuse to try this game because I know what will happen. DH is on level 148 and he changes the time on the ipad to give himself more lives!
