....late, surprisingly enough!
Monday saw me spending quite a bit of time in the car,
between general chores and then taking Mum and my sister down to the airport...... Fortunately the chap who had been assigned to give mum Special Assistance through the airport turned up very quickly, so there were no prolonged farewells; my sister was filling up with tears ......she returns to NZ tomorrow, so there's no knowing when we'll see each other again ....I can only imagine how many tissues she'll go through this week!!
The weekend?....trying to keep mum cool- she found the heat very tiring, so spent a lot of time indoors sitting as close to the fan as she could get, reading. We managed a visit to the Mall (yes, we DO have a mall, which blessedly has AC!), a trip to the coast on Sunday evening-which of course meant a visit to the ice cream 'parlour' and lots of dips in the pool for my sister and myself throughout the course of the weekend.
Waving to SIAN'S little band of 'Monday wavers'...and of course to everyone else......hoping all's well wherever you are in Blogland!
Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you
Alison xx
It sounds like you've had a good visit with your mum and sister. I can't imagine being quite so far away from family, though I don't see nearly enough of my brother who lives much closer than my daughter. Someone was amused when Sarah moved to Chicago and I was excited that she was suddenly just a 10 hour drive away. After California and Oregon, it did seem close by. It's all relative, I guess.
ReplyDeleteand she brought the heat back with her - sounds a nice family visit - have a great week
ReplyDeleteWaving back to you (it's lovely to see you!) and hoping you find a little time to relax this week
ReplyDeleteGiving you a wave from sweltering London! It's hard when family members live so far away, isn't it? Does your mum have someone close by who can help her out if needs be?
ReplyDeleteDespite the heat, sounds like you all enjoyed the visit. Hopefully now you'll be able to relax a little and settle back into a regular routine.
ReplyDeleteThe heat has definately traveled with her!!
ReplyDeleteAw, sad about you and your sis. I would hate living that far away from mine. Sounds like you are coping with the heat as best as possible. xo
