I Couldn't Believe It!

When I went to 'MASYMAS' (our equivalent of TESCO or SAINSBURY'S) on Saturday, I was absolutely astonished to see this:

They were beginning to set up the Christmas display of chocs, sweets, cakes etc.!  This is SPAIN for goodness sake!....we usually have the display, but I'm sure it was much nearer Christmas before it went up in previous years! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas, and by November I'll have the Christmas DVDs out to watch....I was just so surprised to see a Spanish supermarket getting ready!

I have managed to put together a 'kit' of patterned papers for Prompt 3 of  SHIMELLE'S PRETTY PAPER PARTY , but the light had gone by the time I had done so, so I shall photograph it tomorrow.....I haven't dared to cut it up yet! I can't believe that I have NO idea of the pictures I'm going to use with these papers...this is something well outside my comfort zone!!

Thank you to everyone who left a comment about my 'Weight Watchers' LO...I have taken the advice of many of you and changed my profile pic!

Thanks for dropping by!
take care of you
Alison xx

  1. No sympathy for the christmas displays,I'm afraid.....just be grateful they weren't out at the beginning of September as they were here!!!!
Glad you've managed to get the kit together....pretty scary without photos, isn't it?????

  2. I noticed the changed profile photo right away - YEAH! I made my kit, cut it up, and have created three layouts so far (posting about it tomorrow on my blog). I must get a start on making Christmas gifts if I'm going to get any made this year!

  3. Ours were starting to appear in September too, I think it is utterly disgraceful and such a clear marketing ploy ... Christmas is a wonderful time of the year ... at that time of the year, not four months prior!

  6. Great picture! I do love the Christmas displays - but not until after Halloween at least. I hope you show us more of how Spain prepares though - that should be interesting

  7. Oh yes, the Christmas stuff comes out here in the States before Halloween is over. Too early! Now, take a deep breath and cut up that paper! You can do it!

  8. I loathe that supermarkets are so ahead of the game! My least favourite of the things they do is when they have all the 'Back to school' stuff out BEFORE WE'VE EVEN BROKEN UP FOR THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!! (Sorry for the shouting - I feel strongly about it!!) I once wrote a column for a magazine all about this lol....

  9. Tescos over here had the Christmas sweets aisle up and running about 4 weeks ago - I refuse to go down it! I really can't get into the Christmas frame of mind until towards the end of November, I like to enjoy autumn first! Glad you have got your kit put together. I didn't think to photo my kit before I cut into it, but I did enjoy cutting into it and sticking things down before choosing the photos - it was strangely liberating!

  11. There really is no need for it. They could at least wait until after Halloween and Bonfire night!
    Loving the new photo :o)
