WOULD YOU BELIEVE.......

......that I actually scrapped this weekend! In between making cups of tea for my Man Friday.....my name for our 'odd job man'...and he literally does all the little and not-so-little jobs around here which I either can't do (think pool cleaning, chopping down trees and fixing TVs) or won't do (think cleaning the outside windows!). This weekend it was lopping the top off one of these blessed Carob trees I spoke about it the last post.

Anyway, I digress...between making the obligatory cups of tea, doing a bit of gardening myself, enough housework to appease my conscience and a little bit of sitting in the sun listening to a book....I managed to start (and finish!) this layout......

.......based (loosely, I admit) on this 'Sketch to Scrapbook' page of SHIMELLE'S
scrapbooking sketch by shimelle laine @ shimelle.com

I have heard rumours that Spring may be arriving in the UK.....I'm hopeful that this is true, as I'm heading back there on Wednesday! Hoping you have all had a good weekend

  7. I like your page a lot, especially how you interpreted Shimelle's sketch!! (and I really like how you combine all your different letter stickers!)

  8. This is super pretty with the delicate patterns and soft shades :). The chevrons are great for pulling the eye across the page - I like your interpretation of the sketch. And good luck with the travelling; yup, temperatures are on the rise but bring a cardie!

  9. I agree - it's a really pretty page!
And I want a Man Friday, but I want one who is dark and sultry and really handsome, too! In my fantasy world, his name is Raul. I notice that you don't mention what yours looks like.

Yep spring was here in London - potted up seedlings and planted seeds. Definitely hoping it stays warm :)

  15. Don't you love the self talk of working through a little housework to then allow for a LOT of scrapping ... or whatever else?!
    Lovely layout Alison :)

  19. Where does one find a Man Friday? I'd like one too... maybe the twin of Rinda's??? Lovely layout -- I think your interpretation was actually superior to the sketch!

  23. We hired someone a month or two ago to clean our blinds, wash the windows inside and out, and clean the dryer vent. After years and years of "do-it-yourself," I felt like queen for the day. Best of all, my clothes now dry in about the same amount of time as it takes for another load to wash. I'm thinking I'll be having him back on an annual basis!

  24. I would LOVE to find someone to do our windows! You'd think it would be really easy wouldn't you?! Lovely page, very clean and elegant.

  25. I totally see the sketch in there! Love it! And I agree, spring needs to come to the UK AND NEW YORK! We had an ice storm Friday. I think that is rude of the weather when it was officially spring a month ago. Talk about being LATE!
