SIMPLY A MOMENT

FEBRUARY 22, 9.10AM

As the 'Don't leave your bags unattended...' announcement is repeated, in both Spanish and English I move forward a couple of inches, trying not to bump mum's heels with the luggage trolley while Barbara pushes the wheelchair dad's sitting in forward too. There are moans and groans about the queue size and lack of check-in counters, from both in front and behind me, and I can feel the tension emanating from mum as she checks she has the passports and Boarding Passes for the umpteenth time, and her frustration as her carry-on case keeps falling over. Dad is trying to hold the tears back...he hates farewells and he hates going back to the cold weather...I'm glad I'm standing behind them. Now I start to feel guilty for wishing them away...but at the same time I feel relief that dad will be near to his own Doctor, and I know that mum is rejoicing inside- just desperate to get the travelling over and be in the safety of her own environment!

One of the airport staff suddenly appears and tells us that we can go to the front of the queue, so that the wheelchair can be checked through in plenty of time...time for me to start concentrating again and get the travellers checked in.

I am linking up with Alexa's  SIMPLY A MOMENT (rather belatedly admittedly) ...if you head over there you will find some more 'moments' to read about.

Hope your weekend is going well!

LOOKING UP AND DOWN

A bit belatedly this week, I am linking up with HELENA'S photographic meme:

 Helena’s Creative Maven

As I stood in the queue outside our Post Office earlier in the week, I looked up and just had to get the camera out and take a picture of the Church Tower from this angle:

I then looked down to see these poor pansies trying to survive in the ever-so-dry soil in this plant pot.

Thank you all for the good wishes for dad ....I am pleased to report that he remained well enough to travel this morning, and that he, mum and Barbara are safely home.

Hoping your weekend is looking good!

Thanks for dropping by!

HELLO MONDAY

This week I am saying:

HELLO to the painting of the Utility Room..at last! You may remember me threatening to do it a month or so ago...but I ended up asking one of the chaps in the village to do it instead!

HELLO to mum, dad and Barbara heading home on Friday morning...I am just hoping dad stays well enough to be able to fly....poor mum is just desperate to get him home, near to their own doctor....she just hasn't been able to relax at all this visit!

HELLO to an early morning trip to Alicante Airport, to get the above-mentioned safely checked in and on their way!

HELLO to a Charity Auction on Friday afternoon (yes, Friday is going to be a busy day!)

HELLO to a whole weekend to myself.....I am SO looking forward to some time to myself....I may even catch up with some scrapping!

HELLO to this fab package:

arriving this morning  from RUTH.....thank you Ruth!

Hope you are saying HELLO to some lovely things this week

HELLO MONDAY!

This week I'm saying :

HELLO to a trip to the airport, to pick up mum and dad's friend Barbara who arrives today.

HELLO to lots of signs of Spring in our garden

HELLO to a visit to the Grooming Parlour for Boo..she can hardly see out of her fringe!!!

HELLO to the first meeting of the Stitchcraft part of our Craft Group at the local Drop-In Centre...I don't 'do' sewing, but as the organiser of the group feel I should be present!

HELLO to a Curry Lunch on Saturday

HELLO to the annual ALMOND BLOSSOM WALK on Sunday...the only problem being that with the high winds we've been having, the likelihood of there being much blossom left is very slim!

I do hope those of you in the northern hemisphere are staying safe and warm!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

Just One Sketch....rotated!

Slowly catching up here! Our second...and yes, I do know we're on to the fourth....prompt  from MISS SMITH asks us to  rotate our original sketch.

If you remember, I had chosen this sketch, by TRACY from  A SCRAP AT A TIME

Image
I rotated it 90 degrees to the left and this is what I came up with

I have started the third prompt, and will share it when it is finished though that might be after the weekend. Although mum, dad and Barbara go home tomorrow, DD and two friends arrive tomorrow night! Another quick turnaround of the beds, but I'm looking forward to spending my Birthday  on Sunday with my girl (especially seeing as DH is in America)....she always makes me laugh!

Thanks for dropping by!

ANOTHER Bloghop.....

.....this time over at  SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGES. It was their 'Seasons of Change' Bloghop, introducing the new DT and saying farewell to the outgoing DT.

The sketch created for the Bloghop was this:

and this is my take on it

These are my favourite pics of Christmas Morning..the look on DD's face was priceless...and between dad and I we managed to get from the 'Is this REALLY hungry Hippos?' to starting to play with it!!

Hope you're having a great weekend...I have just seen DH off at the airport and returned to my house of invalids. Mum was very sick last night and still doesn't feel too good...and poor dad caught his finger in the car door two nights ago, and is still in pain from that. Fortunately, Mum's friend Barbara (who used to be a nurse) arrived at the beginning of the week, and she has been able to dress dad's finger...I DO mean fortunately, because mum and I would have been hopeless on our own!! We are neither good at dealing with blood, nor being terribly gentle!

Thanks for dropping by!
