HELLO MONDAY

This week I'm saying:

HELLO to a trip to the UK

HELLO to probable hospital-visiting whilst there...dad has been taken in over the weekend...he has pneumonia again. Mum says he is responding well to treatment, but I shall be glad to see that for myself

HELLO to a wedding on Saturday...for which I have still to put together an outfit!

HELLO to an early rise (3am) to get to the airport

HELLO to Kirsty arriving on Friday night,and to spending a few days with her

HELLO to a fretting dog....she saw me get the suitcase out this morning and now she's moping about and leaping up every time I move..she knows I'm going SOMEWHERE

Can't you just tell that she's moping?!

I had to laugh at all the comments about my MAN FRIDAY  (or RAUL, in some people's imaginations!!).....just to clarify; he ISN'T a strapping young Spaniard - in fact he's not Spanish at all, but English ....very nice, but not my type- I'm still on the lookout for Raul! ;)

WOULD YOU BELIEVE.......

......that I actually scrapped this weekend! In between making cups of tea for my Man Friday.....my name for our 'odd job man'...and he literally does all the little and not-so-little jobs around here which I either can't do (think pool cleaning, chopping down trees and fixing TVs) or won't do (think cleaning the outside windows!). This weekend it was lopping the top off one of these blessed Carob trees I spoke about it the last post.

Anyway, I digress...between making the obligatory cups of tea, doing a bit of gardening myself, enough housework to appease my conscience and a little bit of sitting in the sun listening to a book....I managed to start (and finish!) this layout......

I have heard rumours that Spring may be arriving in the UK.....I'm hopeful that this is true, as I'm heading back there on Wednesday! Hoping you have all had a good weekend

I'm Back!

I arrived home last night on a good ol' Ryanair flight (which didn't get the fanfare at the end, as we had a delay of about 45 minutes). DD's best friend was supposed to be arriving just after me..... but of course, because of the delay actually arrived before me ...so we travelled home together.


Much as it's been lovely to catch up with most of the family and lots of friends, it was wonderful to walk into my own house last night....and to sleep in my own bed! BLISS!! There really is 'no place like home', I do believe.


In the space of a week, Boo has turned into a 'shaggy' dog, so I must get an appointment for a hairdo for her. The temperatures have been in the high twenties and it will now just continue to get hotter, so she'll be far too hot if I leave her as she is.


In the same week, my poor garden has taken a bit of a 'pounding'. I had asked Man Friday to come in and water the pots every other day, but I think his idea of watering is very different to mine...however, I've given them a good watering and already they're looking much happier. When the sun goes down a bit I shall get some deadheading done, give them another hosing and go from there.


Hope everyone is well...will start checking on all the Blogs later. I cannot believe how much I missed my daily dose of blogging!
