Just One Sketch- Prompt 5

Still trying to catch up with MISS SMITH'S prompts from her ongoing class, JUST ONE SKETCH. The fifth prompt called for us to consider the colours and combinations we tend to turn to when scrapping, and then go for the opposite effect.

I don't really have a favourite colour scheme, but usually use quite colourful papers and embellishments. ...so I went for  mainly cream/off white papers with just a few pops of colour for this LO. Honestly. the papers are not at a slant...it's bad photography!

I'm really enjoying this class (even if I am well behind with the prompts) and seeing what everyone else is doing with their sketches.

Hope the weekend's going well for you

Thanks for dropping by!

Just One Sketch....mirror image!

MISS SMITH'S third prompt urged us to use the mirror image of our original sketch. If you remember, this sketch, by TRACY over at A SCRAP AT A TIME is the one I working with

and this is the LO I've come up with

These were taken last September, while I was up in Barcelona with DD...I'm not convinced the photos actually do this beautiful building any justice, but I'm quite pleased with the LO itself....and I used mostly old stash to make it!

I'm off to write my story for STORYTELLING SUNDAY over at SIAN'S BLOG tomorrow...why not come and join us?

Hope it's not TOO cold where you are...still colder than we're used to here, but the sun's shining brightly!

Just One Sketch....rotated!

Slowly catching up here! Our second...and yes, I do know we're on to the fourth....prompt  from MISS SMITH asks us to  rotate our original sketch.

If you remember, I had chosen this sketch, by TRACY from  A SCRAP AT A TIME

I rotated it 90 degrees to the left and this is what I came up with

I have started the third prompt, and will share it when it is finished though that might be after the weekend. Although mum, dad and Barbara go home tomorrow, DD and two friends arrive tomorrow night! Another quick turnaround of the beds, but I'm looking forward to spending my Birthday  on Sunday with my girl (especially seeing as DH is in America)....she always makes me laugh!

First (non-JYC) Scrapbook page of 2012!

Like a few other 'scrappy' bloggers, I have signed up for MISS SMITH'S online class JUST ONE SKETCH. She asked us to pick one sketch that suited our style of scrapping....to be honest I'm not sure if I really have a style, but I had a look through some of my more recent LOs and decided I quite liked a couple of photographs, some layered PPs ,a smattering of embellishments and room for journalling.

While looking through the sketches for the SKETCH-A-THON over at SCRAP FRIENDZY, I came across this one

Image
from the ever-so-talented TRACY over at A Scrap at a Time, which I love and which seems to fit the bill.  This is my first take on her sketch

in good company logo-1
It also meets the criteria for SUSANNE'S challenge, IN GOOD COMPANY where she is looking for LOs using products designed or attributed to girls.

I used papers and embellishments by Brenda Walton(for K &co), Lori Whitlock (for Echo Park) and Anna Griffin.
The journalling Tag is from Elle's Studio...and the little reindeer are cut by my Silhouette machine!!
