CATCHING UP.....

....with some scrapping this weekend!

You may remember that at the beginning of last year I committed to joining JO in her  FIVE FAVOURITES  project....and that thus far I have gotten as far as MAY!

As it turns out, on going through my photographs from 2016 I have realised that I didn't take as many pictures as I might normally do in the second half of the year.....so there will be no five layouts per month for the rest of the year, but I AM determined to finish recording 2016!

With that in mind, and some spare time this weekend here's what I've managed to produce:

These were 'stolen' from Kirsty's FB page...the photo-bomber is her friend Imane!

I hardly even took any photos when 'the girls' were here...this is us having a last drink whilst they waited for the bus to take them to the airport.

Although I haven't kept to my original committment, I am indebted to JO for giving me a focus for my scrapbooking ...something I had lost for a while.

MEMORANDUM MONDAY

Joining in with SIAN a little bit later in the day that I had planned...but for a change it IS actually on the right day!

Unfortunately I am car-less at the moment......there is a problem with the electronic dashboard and it is currently in the local garage for (hopefully) repair. One of my friends graciously loaned me her car on Saturday morning and I was able to go for some food shopping. After returning the car to her-and fitting in a bit of luch- I had the urge to be creative for the first time in months...and here's the results of the rest of Saturday: 

These pictures have been lying on my craft table since well before Christmas, and are the final two for my FIVE FAVOURITES for last May!!

Sunday saw me working in the garden ...taking stock of what has been growing while I've been gone...then having lunch with friends (all of us being without Valentine partners for various reasons).

Dessert...Lemon Chiffon and Strawberry Meringue......YUM!

Did I learn anything? ...I learned that 12 metres is equal to 39 feet 4.441 inches...that's the distance I cover in twenty steps (I found this out whilst trying to set up my new FITBIT) 

I'm off to find out what else was discovered by blogfriends this weekend....have a good week everyone.

SCRAPPING......

.....who?- me?......surely not!

But yes, I felt the bug this weekend and I cleared space and unpacked the boxes which were hiding my supplies.....boxed up due to decorating AND a double booking at Casa McInnes!.....and have actually managed to complete two layouts from my FIVE FAVOURITES from March (yes, MARCH!)

It could be a while before you see any more.....the next house guests arrive tomorrow, so it's time to tidy up again!

It felt good to be creative again ...watch this space!

FIVE FAVOURITES

Chasing my tail again here, but slowly getting there!

Thanks to JO I have been scrapbooking again....so much so that I have actually order a new album- the first one for a couple of years!

I shared my first two layouts for February HERE, and at last am getting around to posting the others:

Young at heart!......Jean and Eric met in hospital and have remained firm friends

It's unlikely that I'll get them all completed by the end of the month, given that I haven't even started and am off  to visit mum and dad for a week, on Monday....more catching up when I get home!

ME ON MONDAY

A day late again, but this was me yesterday...still catching up with laundry after all my visitors of the last few weeks had left.

The weekend? I saw Kirsty and the boyfriend on their way back to the UK on Friday, spent some time pruning and weeding in the garden, visited MY LITTLE OLD LADY who has ended up in hospital after a bad fall, had a very pleasant lunch at a local restaurant with good friends on Sunday....and  finished my last Layout for my FIVE FAVOURITES for February..... I"m hoping to get the photograph taken of that tomorrow and then I'll share them with you.

We also had word last week  that, after having an MRI scan, the doctors were pretty sure that dad had gallstones...he had surgery today during which they removed two rather large stones without complications.... he is now in Recovery and we are all hoping and praying that he will be able to start eating again and  build some strength up.

Waving at SIAN (whose idea ME ON MONDAY was)... and her merry band of wavers - and of course YOU!

ME ON MONDAY

It's been a day at home today...a day for housework; yes, you heard me correctly HOUSEWORK!....as in getting out the furniture polish and the sweeping brush AND the mop.

'What's brought on this madness?' I hear you mutter........well, apart from the fact that it was well overdue, Kirsty is arriving on Wednesday - WITH the boyfriend! The first time a boyfriend has been brought home...the boyfriend whose parents' home, every time I facetime, looks tidy pristine - so I do not want be found lacking!!

The weekend? It was a lunch with a friend on Saturday, lazy Saturday night, taking a bunch of ladies who live alone and whose children weren't around for Mother's Day out for morning coffee, telephoning my own mum and MIL, going out for Sunday Lunch then collapsing on the settee sort of weekend....and I even managed some scrapbooking!

Waving to SIAN (who came up with the brilliant idea of  ME ON MONDAY) and all the Monday 'wavers'...and of course to JO who has inspired me to get back scrapping with her FIVE FAVOURITES idea!

ME ON MONDAY

Today was one of those days that, when I went out this morning I didn't get back home until 5 o'clock. I was ready for a cup of coffee and, given that the sun was still shining I decided to have that cup of coffee outside, whilst catching a few rays and reading my book

The weekend? ......a bit of gardening, ordering new gas bottles, food shopping, book-reading and scrapbooking...there should have been housework in there- but somehow I kept finding something more interesting enjoyable to do!

I also chose my FIVE FAVOURITES for February

Boo's fringe was so long, I ended up putting one of  Kirsty's bobbles in to keep it out of her eyes!

Craig sent me the cards on the left for my Birthday but they didn't arrive...when he discovered that, he went and bought duplicates before coming home...needless to say the originals arrived the day Craig did!

FIVE FAVOURITES FROM JANUARY

You might remember that I am joining in with JO's challenge, to choose and scrap five favourite photographs every month this year .

I have to confess that when I looked back on January I discovered that I hadn't actually TAKEN many  photographs.

Only three of the photographs below were actually taken by me....the final two were copied from Kirsty's Facebook page...but they are favourites, so I'm counting them!

FIVE FAVOURITES...FINISHED!

You may remember in THIS post, I said I was going to take inspiration form  JO and try to get five scrapbook layouts done each month this year.

I have already shared three of these layouts HERE and HERE. 

This one I actually completed in January: 

all she wanted for Christmas was a unicorn onesie...thank goodness for Amazon!

and this one sneaked into February:

although I reached the grand old age of 56 (!) at the end of January, the photograph was taken in December hence the title!

....but they're done..and I so enjoyed getting back 'into the groove' again!
