THIS YEAR'S EXCITEMENT IN THE GARDEN

Those of you who were reading my blog around this time last year, might remember THIS POST, when I was very excited about the Cherry tree and the Bird of Paradise plant in my garden.

This year, not only has the Bird of Paradise bloomed again, but this time it has THREE flowers!

and the cherry tree has gone from having two fruits, to an absolute plethora of fruits!...can you feel the excitement from where you're reading this?!

I hope there are exciting things happening in your garden too!

Remember you still have time to leave a comment at the end of THIS POST, to be put in the draw for my giveaway (until midnight GMT)

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

It's official......

...the cherries are eaten-and were perfect! After we came back from Valencia( where I go to pick DD up from the bus, when she's coming down from Barcelona), we decided that said cherries were looking 'just right'...not too big- not too little; not too pink- not too red; not too hard-not too soft...and reckoned it was time to 'go for it'.

'You realise there is a price to pay for having one of the precious cherries?' I asked DD
'There is?....' she replied, looking very suspiciously at me( as I grabbed the camera) 'Oh mum...do I have to?..I mean.really-why?'
'For posterity of course..it's our first crop!..and DON'T EAT THAT TILL I GET A PICTURE OF IT!' I cried.
'You don't really call two cherries a crop, I'm thinking' she retorted, but she did sit where I was pointing to

'Do I look as stupid as I feel?'

'Do we need a photo of me with my mouth full?' (she mumbled)

'Look as if you're really savouring it' pipes up the photographer

'It's actually really sweet ..can I have yours?'

Even though she had been a good sport, there was no way she was having my share of the 'crop'!

Maybe next year we'll have enough for two each!

Tanks for dropping by!

Life is a bowl(or at least a couple) of Cherries!

The big question for me, now that the cherries look like this:

is 'When do I pick and eat them?'  They are calling out to me, every time I pass, to be tasted, but if I do so now will I be sorry I didn't leave them a few more days(or weeks!)? I shall give them a few more days in the sun, I think - and then give them a gentle squeeze, to see if that helps with my decision-making.

Today was Weight Watchers day...and I have lost another pound! This second stone is coming off much more slowly than the first....and I'm a bit fed up about that. I'm hoping that when I am visitor-free I will get back into the swing of it again-I'm doing too much comfort eating just now!

I'm having CHERRIES!

Yes! I really AM...and yes, I am very excited! There I was, out watering the garden and as I was standing with the hose at the cherry tree, there they were....three little green 'blobs'!

Mum and dad bought the tree when they were here last year, and I wasn't at all sure we would get any cherries in the first year. I am being a bit obsessive about them and keep checking that they are still there, and wondering when they will start to turn red. I love watching things developing in the garden...nature is a wonderful thing!

I think you may be hearing more about the  cherries' progression!

Here is the San Francisco layout, which I finished today:

I used the LO for a challenge over at  Scrap Friendzy - the challenge was to scrap on a white background , which for me IS a challenge!
