SIPIDI

Belatedly joining with FIONA's monthly meme.

A few weekends ago, SHIMMELLE hosted a weekend of online scrapbooking. I didn't have time to take part, but I DID pin a few sketches.

This was was I particularly liked:

scrapbooking sketch by shimelle laine @ shimelle.com

And this is the layout I managed to put together:

On putting the layout away in it's album, I discovered that I had actually already scrapped a smaller version of this photograph, but on double page layout:

Taken at the BLOGGER's WEEKEND  last year...I don't know if it's because we're thinking about another one, but this was the photograph I was drawn to use!

Thanks for dropping by!

LOOKING UP AND DOWN

Joining in with HELENA, and a group of other blogfriends, for this week's LOOKING UP AND DOWN photographs....

LOOKIING UP

I spent a boring  thrillingly, delightful hour and a half here.....

LOOKING DOWN

......watching both  my own and Kirsty's laundry being washed and dried......it was easier than trying to dry it all in Kirsty's flat/apt....money -and time! well spent in my opinion.

! REALLY hope you have looked up and down at more exciting things this week!

Just want to remind you too, that I'm taking part in a PASS-THE-PAGE BLOGHOP on SUNDAY (NOT Saturday, as I said in my previous post)....JULIE'S blog is two years old on Sunday, and to celebrate she asked the crowd of us from the BLOGGER'S WEEKEND to participate in said bloghop. If you are a bit baffled by the 'pass-the-page' bit, please do pop along on Sunday to find out more!

I am off for coffee with a friend now, then checking in on mum and dad...later in the day I'm off to pick Craig up from the airport :) and later again will pick Kirsty up from the railway station....think I may be having something a little stronger than the coffee by tonight!

Have a lovely weekend my friends...hope to see you on Sunday!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

A SCRAPPIN' GREAT TIME.....

.....that's the title of my latest scrapbook page, which is -for the first time in ages- a double page layout.

I reckoned it was time to get the pictures of the BLOGGER'S WEEKEND on a page......

......so a multi-pic layout was called for.

I made one of MISS SMITH'S 'polaroids'

and also one of her JOURNALING TAGS....

.....and I layered up some random flowers from my stash:

I'll be back tomorrow with the story of this month's 'precious', in conjunction with SIAN'S STORYTELLING SUNDAY, over at FROM HIGH IN THE SKY.

Hopefully you are having a good weekend......a busy day for me  tomorrow: it's Afternoon Tea at the DROP IN CENTRE, so there's baking to be done...and then hopefully eaten by others, so that I am not tempted!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

A LITTLE BIT OF FIRST AID

You might remember when I was talking about the Blogger's Weekend in THIS POST, I mentioned RUTH'S challenge...and how the layout I  had produced for it hadn't survived the journey home.

Ruth had asked us all to choose an item which we were to take seventeen of...the idea being that everyone ended up with seventeen items with which to create 'something'. We didn't have to use each article in its entirety, but we were to try to use a part of EVERYTHING!

I should have been sensible and made a card...much easier to tuck in my case, but no, I decided on a layout.

As I said, it had fallen to pieces by the time I got home, but after a little TLC I managed to get it to look like this:

I added the alphas and the journaling tag, but everything else was provided at the time.....apologies to MEL...I have only just noticed that the little bit of your box that I used is missing...and I can't even remember how I  used it!!

Hope you're keeping warm, wherever you are!

WHAT A WEEKEND IT WAS

You will probably be aware by now, I spent last weekend in the company of this wonderful band of bloggers:

I was picked up from Milton Keynes Coachway by the lovely ALEXA......as we were too early to get in to the Youth Hostel, we headed to the shopping centre, where, after a quick look round M&S ,we  met RUTH  and managed to sneak  in a cup of coffee before setting off for our weekend accomodation.

It was only when everyone started arriving and unloading their cars, that I realised precisely how little I had brought with me!

Before we knew it, everyone had 'dumped' their (non-scrappy) belongings upstairs, chosen a bed and gathered downstairs with a cuppa.....and before we knew it the serious business of getting to know each other and  playing began:

Although the Youth Hostel provided the evening meal, we had all been allocated supplies to take for either breakfast or lunch..and for snacks of course! (A big THANK YOU to FAY for organising my share of the shopping) As you can see, we almost starved:

There were challenges and tutorials, and lots of fabulous work was produced......not by me, I hasten to add...I told everyone from the beginning that I was there for the social aspect!

I did however manage a layout as part of RUTH'S challenge...but more about that  once I have carried out some First Aid  on it -it didn't survive the flight home in my hand luggage :(

I do hope you are having a good weekend...I've managed to get some scrappy time, but I've missed you girls!

Thanks for dropping by!

HELLO MONDAY...LATE AGAIN!

Late again...I know! I have a good excuse this week, though...I didn't arrive back from my weekend with a lovely group of blog friends till yesterday.

Without further ado, this week I am saying:

HELLO to catching up with all the jobs I wasn't able to get done (SUCH a shame!) because I spent the weekend here:

HELLO to torrential rain....the wet weather we normally have in February seems to have moved on a few weeks...I keep reminding myself how good it is for the countryside and gardens.

HELLO to having come back from my weekend with lots of inspiration and to getting some serious scrapping done!

HELLO to having everything crossed for Kirsty again.....she has another interview this week - a follow up to one of the ones she had last week.

Here's hoping your week holds a few things to look forward to.

Thanks for dropping by!

LOOKING UP AND DOWN

Now, I know you are used to seeing pics with blue sky  on this blog...but this week's offering for HELENA'S photographic meme:

 Helena’s Creative Maven

shows a somewhat different picture!

Looking up, the sky is filled with grey clouds...and there is actually a fine layer of snow on the ridges!

Looking down is the evidence of the hail shower we've just had....

I actually woke at 7.30am with the thunder rumbling....and Boo practically sitting on my head! She HATES thunder and lightening and practically hyperventilates during a storm....then attaches herself to me till it's over.

Thankfully it has now passed over and she has calmed down...I might even be able to go for a shower!

I reckon this cold snap is good preparation for my weekend in deepest, darkest Milton Keynes!

Thanks for dropping by!
