I have spent the last couple of days taking Christmas down...and taking a last few pictures of this year's displays....and thought these might work for my first contribution to the meme (late of course!)
ZOOM OUT
ZOOM IN
I zoomed in on two of the decorations I received in the Christmas Decoration swap organised by MIRIAM.....the heart was sent by MIRIAM herself (thank you Miriam).....the snowflake is one of a set of three, sent by JANE ( thank you again, Jane).
Now that Christmas has been packed away, I feel i can start to focus on 'getting back to normal'...I don't know about you, but much as I love having the house decorated for Christmas it makes me feel in a constant state of being on holiday and I can't get back into a routine till it's all down!
Hope life's getting back to normal where you are!
Thanks for dropping by!
take care of you
Alison xx
I love Christmas and all the decorations. I also love reclaiming my house on January 1st and having that "open" feeling again and a clean slate for the new year!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed by Christmas and am already counting the days till I can put the decorations up for this years Christmas lol. But I have to agree, it's always excited to start afresh and get into an everyday routine again :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tree and how lovely to have those special decorations on it. Happy New Year to you
Christmas was 'put away' in our house today....it feels a little bare at the moment!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree - I took mine down on the 2nd and then started on some new year projects. Love your pair of decoration photos
ReplyDeleteOurs will come down tomorrow and it always make me feel a little asd. I like eating my porridge in the peace and quiet, with only the twinkilng tree lights for company.
ReplyDeletethanks for showing me how they looked and Happy New Year xx
ReplyDeleteWe put Christmas back into the loft this afternoon and although everywhere looks a little bare now, I do kind of like having things back to normal. I've joined in with zooming in and out today (not sure if this is a weekly or monthly thing!) I'd like to think I can keep up with it but my track record isn't good ;-)
ReplyDeleteI had a lovely afternoon yesterday making the block for your quilt and hope I'll be able to get it packed up and sent out to you early next week - I'll let you know when it's on its way!
Lovely ornaments :) Our tree stays up until the 7th and I so enjoy sitting in the living room with the lights on.
ReplyDeleteOur tree came down this morning as Gracia went back to Newcastle yesterday. Normality will return on Monday when I have to go back to work after 12 days off - not looking forward to that!
ReplyDeleteI'm not looking forward to taking ours down tonight when we get back from my Mum's. :ast year we compromised and left the lights on the stairs up for another month, and it's so dark here I'm sure the same thing will happen this year
ReplyDeleteI agree--the decorations are beautiful and many of them are reminders of happy times in years' past, but I also like getting back to normal early in the New Year. Everything is put away for another year...
ReplyDeleteHappy 2014!
Great shots. I find it really hard to get back in to a routine when the Christmas decs are still up too :) xx
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I like to get them all down and back to normal too. All the family are back to work tomorrow so it will feel like back to normal for me then too!
ReplyDeleteI took all our stuff down yesterday and it felt great! I'm going to participate in Helena's meme this year too! I love that it will get me using my camera :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots for Zoom In/Zoom Out - I'm participating this year, too.
ReplyDeleteThings are getting back into a routine this week here, too. I even got in some exercise every day this week - YIPPEE! Happy New Year!
I love your tree! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that 2014 is a fabulous year.
ReplyDeleteI love putting the Dec's out but i also love putting them away. Boys are back to school on Wed so only one more day of the holidays left and then its back to normal. Wishing you a good 2014 x
ReplyDeleteOurs are coming down this evening, I'm sad because our tree this year was just perfect! Your ZIZO pair are so lovely, thank you x
ReplyDeleteA perfect ZIZO choice, I think. I still have one nativity set up - was planning to leave it until epiphany, but not sure I can hold out.
ReplyDeleteRinda
Two great shots for the first of the year ZIZO post! I like your tree. Seeing as Ephiphany was yesterday our stuff will be getting put away today.
ReplyDeleteWhat glorious light you seem to have despite it's being January! We are plunged into grey over here ... Your tree still looks lovely :).
